Hayley’s dark and dreamy cinematic lo-fi creations also have one toe tentatively dipped in alt roots. This landscape consists of listening, writing, & playing the necessary instruments to carve out her own musical space.

Studying a music course at Goldsmiths college, London, cemented her belief in the value of intuitive music making.

During this time Hayley’s beautifully sparse, home-recorded demo of “Fierce Love” landed on the doorstep of Independent label, Barracuda recordings, which in turn led to a record deal with the Brighton based label.

She released her debut album ‘THE WEIGHT OF HOPE’ in February 2020 which she co-produced with Martyn Barker.

The album went on to be mixed by John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead) and mastered at Abbey Road studios. Prior to her debut album she released two Eps the first being ‘Fierce Love’ quickly followed by ‘Barracuda’.

High points in her career so far have included air time on Lauren Laverne’s BBC6 music show, talking about lockdown during 2020 with several tracks aired & a number of her songs successfully synced on popular TV shows in the US including Orange Is The New Black, The Blacklist & Riverdale.

BBC Introducing the South have also shown her a lot of love with her tracks being played regularly & inviting her in for live sessions.

She has played extensively in the UK and toured Ireland with varying versions of her live show.

Hayley has previously worked with Alain Whyte (Morrissey) and with Nick Cave & Warren Ellis singing on the original motion picture soundtrack for Wind River.

Dernier Baiser

With a love for the French language & field recordings, Dernier Baiser (The Weight Of Hope) is a drum driven track adorned with birdsong & thunderstorms both of which were captured in Hayley’s garden. It also features swelling French horns which were imagined as plumes of smoke billowing and weaving through the track as it reaches its peak.
